The reedy waterside on the waterfront at the other side of the waterway is owned by the golf course and yes, it also needs maintenance. The latter on a very different scale then in our garden. This is what happens once a year. After that the waterway will be cleared of water plants and debris etc. The importance of this was stressed in the reply to a previous post Time for irrigation, sunny, hot and dry.
There where a number of reed warblers brooding in there. We have only seen glimpses of them but they where very noisy indeed. We can only hope that the nests where empty.
